Coastal cleanup - "Rydd i Tide"

The Rydd i Tide program, founded by the Norwegian Retailers’ Environment Fund in 2021, aims to clean 55% of Norway’s outer coastline by 2025 and maintain areas that have already been cleared.

From 2022 until now, the Geopark has removed over 50 tons of marine debris along the coastlines of Skien, Porsgrunn, and Bamble.

In the 2025 season, the Geopark will clean the coastal stretch in Larvik from the Telemark border to Nevlunghavn, including all associated islands-a total of 110 kilometers of coastline.

About the Geopark

The Geopark is limited by the administrative areas of the muncipalities Kragerø, Bamble, Porsgrunn, Skien, Siljan, Nome and Larvik. Geologically the area may be described as "where the old Scandinavian geology meets the younger geology of continental Europe".
